I hope you don't feel bad about this. When I started blogging, I felt guilty for never reading the classics. But now I realize you should only be reading what makes you happy.
ReplyDeleteThe only one on your list I've actually read is Great Gatsby and it's my favorite because of the writing, but it's definitely not a book for everybody because the characters are mostly shallow and terrible, but I don't think I've ever found a writer who writes like F. Scott.
I used to love reading classics, but maybe I was just trying to seem pretentious as a teenager, haha.
DeleteI genuinely love gothic horrors, but I've exhausted a lot of that genre. Now, whenever I pick up a classic, I do enjoy it, but it takes me as long to read as 3 other books. I guess I just have to find the right balance.
Don't feel bad I've only read The Great Gatsby on this list because I was forced to in school! I do own Catch 22 and Brave New World but sadly haven't made them a priority
